The running gear lowers hydraulically up to 15 cm to bring transport height below four metres. • Three into one will go: when the swathing hoods on both mowers are closed, the augers feed material from the sides, windrowing it into one central swath. Closing just one hood along field edges presents a clean job to the following harvester. • BiG but very agile: driven by wheel motors and turning through a 50° angle, BiG M is extremely easy to manoeuvre and efficient in small fields. An excellent front-rear weight distribution (64% : 36%) ensures perfect handling in difficult terrain. • At Agritechnica 2017, KRONE introduced the fifth generation of BiG M with updated mower conditioner and 9.90 m working width. The new 6-cylinder inline Liebherr engine with PowerSplit control develops 449 hp. • BiG M was unveiled on 20 May 1996. The first BiG M had EasyCut cutterbars with 9.10 m working width and a 300 hp engine. The Mowers • Direct drive through Powerbands and driveshafts • Stepless and hydraulic cutting height control • Front mower with optional auto sideshift relative to the steering angle • DuoGrip centre-of-gravity suspension on the side mowers • Optional sideshift function: overcut of mower hydraulically adjusted depending on steering and tilt angle, reducing driver workload and eliminating strips on slopes. Inclination sensor controls traction distribution across four wheels for optimal turf protection. • Standard break-back system allows side mowers to swing up and rear when hitting obstacles, returning to position afterward. • Side mowers suspended in ball sockets in a centre-of-gravity system for uniform ground pressure; side pulling forces absorbed by parallel arms, ensuring clean cuts in sloping fields and along ditches/verges. • Ground pressure and cutting height controlled from the cab; operators can program two cutting heights and pressures and select via joystick. • All engine power flows efficiently to the three mowers; transfer gearbox splits power and sends it via belts and driveshafts.
